AUDIT PROCESS

The Internal Auditor audits the Council's financial processes and internal procedures and checks a sample of entries.

All Councils are required to complete an "Annual Return" at the end of each financial year. The return is completed by the Clerk, audited by the Internal Auditor and put before a Council meeting for final approval and signature on behalf of the Council. It is then sent to an external auditor nominated by the Audit Commission for certification and comment. The process is usually completed by the Autumn.

Formal notice regarding the public's right to inspect the return will be displayed on the Parish noticeboard and website, when complete the Return itself will also appear on this site.
